Just prayer in general...

We are about to re-schedule Cody's eye appointment. We are also going to schedule Hayden his first eye appointment. Jacob was telling me that he is noticing Hayden's eye doing the same thing that Cody's did. What is weird is Hayden is 18 months old right now, and that is when we noticed Cody's eye going inward. We just hope they can give us a good play for both Cody and Hayden (if needed). Cody is adorable in his glasses, so I am not worried that Hayden would not be as adorable. Just keep them in prayer that nothing inside their eyes or surrounding areas are damaged or anything serious going on. Thank you Lord for the days you have allowed me to have our boys. We cherish the days even though some our difficult.

Prayer for John

Please keep our family in your prayers. My brother is going through a rough patch in his life and he just needs your prayers. I know that he is saved, but he's dying a slow and painful death due to concequences of his own actions. I just pray that he finds the TRUE God and that he comes back to us wanting to fight for his life and dignity. I love him and I always will, but I will put my foot down when it comes to things that I disagree with or that are directly against the bible. I am not here to judge, because that is not my duty. Thank you in advance!!!

Question

Ok, our oldest son Cody is extremely into Music. He has asked us to build him a singing room. When he asked us that, my husband Jacob, told him that singing rooms are for girls. Here is my question: Do you think that singing is a girl thing?? I personally don't and think very highly of Cody and his singing ability. One day he might make a career out of singing and I will back him in all he does.
I also don't think our son is going to be "gay" if he plays with dolls or kitchens. It's called "dramatic play". He's role playing to be a good daddy. If Jacob has a problem, he needs to get out in the yard and play catch with him. The fact that he says this really upsets me because if you say stuff like that and the kid hears you then he will start believing it. I don't want that for anyone especially my kids. If you have something negative to say about my kids or me go write it on paper or tell someone who cares, don't be rude.

Ike and Celebrations

We had a wonderful past week. Even though Hurricane Ike devistated Galveston and some surrounding areas. We were able to spend some quality time with our family from Houston. They came in Friday of last week not only because of Ike, but because we were dedicating Rouse High School to my Papaw on Saturday. I wish I would have taken pictures of the boys outfits because they looked adorable. Although I did get pictures of the actual dedication going on. Saturday night we enjoyed a lovely dinner at my Aunt Stacey's house. I was in charge of bread, but I also made cookies, rice crispy treats and a dump cake. We enjoyed visiting with all the people who came in support of my Papaw.

Then Sunday, was both my Mamaw and Sister-in-law birthdays and on top of that we had a baby shower. I love baby showers, but I am glad that I am finally finished with wanting babies. My boys are growing up fast, but I am there almost 24/7 to watch and enjoy the experiences they are going through. Everything turned out wonderfully and I was very tired before everyone left. People were still there, but we had school the next day, so I just bathed the boys and put everyone to bed, including myself. I guess I can't handle the late nights anymore, at least on school nights.

Five years in the making...

For those of you who don't know, Jacob and I, who have been married for 5 years and have 3 boys, have moved quite a bit in the last few years. We have finally (with the help of his parents) purchased our first home (double wide mobile home). We signed to purchase the house a month ago today, and finally, with fingers crossed, it will be moving onto our land tomorrow. The only set back that we will incur would be if it would rain. So, all you believers in prayer, please pray that we don't have rain from now until after the house is put together. We really are very anxious, excited, nervous, and ready for this next chapter in our life to begin. Jacob is going to take pictures of the moving process. So, I will post pictures when I receive them. I hope you all are having a wonderful week.
Tomorrow will be one full completed week at work! Yah!!! Hayden is going to a teachers house, because they don't have a 4 day class for his age. I hope he does good. Cody is fitting right into his new class already. Of course, several girls from his old class are in his class. When I asked the teachers how he did his first day, they said that as soon as Cody walked in, the girls said,"Yah! Cody is here." I swear he is going to be the most amazing husband and daddy. He notices the little cute things that I long for out of Jacob. Like saying "honey", giving hugs, and saying sweet compliments. He definitely doesn't get that from his dad. (sorry honey, you need to work on that!) ; ) Mason had a rough day today. He went to school and undies and stayed dry all day, that was the great thing of the day. But he likes to wash his own hands and apparently the stool fell and so he fell and got 2 bruises on his head. They had to fill out a accident report. Then Daisy (his teacher) told me that she forgot to tell me that yesterday someone bit him. My poor baby. Other then that he did great.
Tonight we went and ate at La Tapatia in Salado. The waitress was oddly hitting on Cody. Rubbing his arm and grazing her fingers through his hair saying how cute he was. Then when we were done going to pay, we all got up, including Cody. Well, she went up to him and asked to pick him up and hold him. He was almost as big as she was. It was weird. But in an innocent way. Jacob jokingly said to me, he was about to tell Cody to get a room! LOL I thought I would share that. The kids keep coming out of their room, and it's supposed to be bedtime, so I better go see what's going on. Good night!!! Let me know what you think of the blogs my friends....

Honestly it was Terrible...

Ok, usually I would like to make things seem better than they really are, but today I am going to be honest (Oh, and yesterday I was truly sincere about having a wonderful day!) I was extremely exhausted today. It was horrible, I even had 2 cups of coffee to try and overcome the tiredness I was experience early on. Well, it didn't help. I dragged the entire day.
Did I mention that we had a soccer game last night and that it really kicked my butt. I had to play majority of the game and I hate to lose (even though we lost our first game last night :* (
I went all out. My abs, legs to even my tongue hurt this morning. Don't ask, I think it was the new "hot" coffee experience from Monday morning. I didn't wait until it cooled off a bit, I just plunged right in, burnt myself pretty good on the tongue.
Ok, back to the terrible part. I think the majority of the problem was I was overwhelmed with sleepiness and so sore that I didn't even get up when the alarm went off. My mother-in-law (Susan) had to come into the room to let me know it was going off. Thanks Susan, because of you, I made it to work on time.
My students were great and I love my assistant. She is the best help ever. While I am busy handling the "major" stuff she is dealing with the BM's and PP diapers. I know once we get the routine down it will be great. We did have a little switch. We have twin autistic children in His Kids. Well, I had the boy and my friend had the girl in her class. They changed it up and put her with me and him with Daisy (my friend/teacher). With the lack of experience that myself and the whole staff have with autism, it just is a disaster at rest time. I had her during our summer program and was able to get her to sleep twice the whole time I had her. The other times she was very loud and distracted the other children while they were trying to rest. So, with this little girl yelling and myself extremely tired, it was irratable in the room. I finally gave in to her and gave her a book and sat down and ate my lunch and chilled out a bit.
I am praying and hoping for a better day tomorrow. I am heading off to bed right after I post this. I will try and stick with the 1 cup of coffee (cooled down) then the 2 because I think I am that weird person who caffeine makes me tired instead of peppy! Good Night!

My students at the playground

Our Class at the playground!
Our class getting ready to go inside!!!

The boys

Here are the boys about to get in the car to head to our first day of school. Look how Cody has his "briefcase"!!!

From one of my parents

The parent typed the first part as if it were Eli (not yet 2). Also, I promise I didn't edit anything!

Ms. Sandi-Thank you for such a great first day. I had a lot of fun today in your class. I had fun playing with my new friends. I liked coloring on my brown paper. See you tomorrow. I love you - Eli

Thank you so much for being so wonderful. I know it might be a little harder since Eli is younger then the rest and comes with some nice bottom issues. You have been so wonderful. My husband and I are so excited that Eli is in your classroom. The love you have for the children in your class is fantastic. They are all lucky to have you as a teacher. Eli was in such a good mood when he came to my class today. He could not stop talking. (although I could not understand him) he was so excited which tell me he had a great day. Have a wonderful night!!!
Carrie

Whew! One down many more days to go!

We had an AMAZING day today. All 4 of us. My class was AWESOME!!! People would pass by and say, "that's not fair your kids are quiet and playing nicely together", it was perfect. The boys teachers gave so many complimants on the boys and said how great they were. Hayden's teachers adore him and said he is perfect, he eats great, and goes to sleep as soon as they laid him down. He goes with the flow. Mason's teachers said he did good today. He had an accident in his underwear, but the teacher said it was their fault because they didn't take him before playground. Although he pooped in his pull-up, which he didn't poop at all yesterday, so I figured today would be a poopy filled day. Cody's teacher saw me in the copy room and had to come tell me how cute Cody was today. That at the playground they overheard him say to another girl "Hey Honey, come here!" and they said the girl didn't miss a beat and said, "be there in a second." I thought that was adorable. And I appreciated her coming to tell me that. We did fall into a bit of a problem. I am a 4 day teacher and so I assumed that my kids were put in 4 day classes. I was talking to one of Cody's teachers and she was telling me that they are 3 days. I freaked out. Went and talked to the Directors and they fixed it. So, Cody will be in a different class tomorrow. The last teacher I talked to was one of his teachers last year and she said that she really would prefer Cody stay and on thursdays he could go to her house! Isn't that sweet. I just received an email from a parent and will post it after I post this. Hope you enjoyed our first day.

The essence of a cup of coffee

Yes, with coffee in hand, today is our first day back to school. And for some odd reason at this point I am so calm. Last night was a different story. I was so tired and went to bed at 9:15 pm, by about 9:20 pm I was out of bed getting stuff that I forgot to get done, finished. Then, my husband and I remember that there was a Big Brother episode that was on today that we had recorded. My mother-in-law, husband and I sat down and watched that. It was pretty good. I had a cookie and some milk, and finally looked at the clock and it said 11:15 pm, so I for real went to bed. Now it's 6:40 am and I have taken a shower, dried my hair and had my coffee and now I am able to type a little blog, before I go put my face on for the day (makeup) oh, and wake the kiddos up! I have high hopes that today will be a great day, please wish us luck or throw up a prayer. I am going to buy breakfast tacos for the boys teachers. I am going to pamper them all week with goodies, after that they are on there own. I will update on how the day went whenever I have time later today.

:::A Day Full of Fun:::

Yesterday was a pretty fun day. It included me and my mother-in-law Susan watching a lot of Food Network shows. One of the shows were Paula Deen's Party and she made this chocolate double layered cream cheese filling cake. Me and Susan wanted that so bad. (She is at the store as I am blogging, I hope she gets the ingredients) I got online and printed out the recipe twice, one for me and one for her!!! Then, in the afternoon, I went to the store and had a budget to keep it in the $50's range. Well, I got up there and it rang up to be $70-something and then I gave the lady my coupons and my total was $58-something. I guess I could have got cheaper diapers, but my baby can't have nothing but the best for his tush! I like the Luvs brand personally. Huggies are ok, but pampers have a stinky smell to them. When I got home, I was so excited I showed my husband, which who was happy that I didn't spend all the money at the store. : ) I guess sometimes I can get a little carried away.
Later on in the evening, Jacob whipped up some hot dogs, Susan did the cheese and chili, and I made cookies. We had a great dinner at home. Before the Texas Longhorn game we watched the ending of the movie 8 Seconds. Jacob's dad wanted to watch it. During the credits, his dad said "man my allergies are acting up". Jacob, Susan and I look at each other and giggle as he left the room. Although the movie was very sad. Then finally around 9:30 pm the Texas Longhorn game started. I probably watch the first quarter because I was so tired I went to bed with the boys. Jacob although stayed up and watched the whole game. He told me this morning that it was over around 12:30 am.
This morning, me and the boys were up and got ready for church, while Jacob slept in. Which he usually does, and that's why we are always late to church. Since our church has changed their times to later, I figured we would have made it. Nope, we didn't make it. So, Cody was excited because him and Scotty (Jacob's brother) are "supposed" to make a Tree House together today. We will see about that. If it happens I will take a picture and post it.
We start school tomorrow and so I have to get everything ready at school tonight after their AWANAs is over at 7:00 pm. It will be a late night for me, but not my kids. They will be out hopefully at a decent time. Wish me luck or throw up a prayer!!!

:::Football:::

I had so much fun with my family tonight. We enjoyed a great meal at our favorite Mexican food restaurant, with my mom and step dad, grandparents, and 2 of my aunts and one uncle. Before we were leaving, our favorite waiter, Jason, told us that Pete Benz was playing tonight at 7 pm. Well, we were almost done and in walks Pete Benz. While we were paying he was getting stuff set up. Right as we were about to walk out he spoke in the mic and asked what the red heads name was. We told him Hayden. He then spoke in the mic and said "Hayden, you are the cutest baby ever!" and started to sing the Barney song, "I love you". I put him down and he started to dance. Of course, that got everyone around to laugh. It was cute. Then we met up with them at the Hutto varsity football game. My cousin Trevor plays on the team. We just had a lot of fun visiting and watching him play. The boys weren't very good so we ended up leaving in between the 3rd quarter. While the boys were drifting to sleep in the back, Jacob and I really enjoyed a great conversation between the two of us. Where both of us were laughing hard. I love those!!! That was our fun filled evening.

New-bie

Sorry for the comment trouble. Although I appreciate the comments on email already. That means I have friends who keep up with me. Thanks you guys!!! I hopefully fixed the problem, but if you notice that it's still disabled please feel free to email me on how to work this out!!

Motivated to Lose it

Today, I have been inspired to finally lose the last 15 pounds that I keep setting aside. I was 5 pounds away from being pre-pregnancy weight with my first child, before the end of our school year last year. But this summer with all the moves really took a toll on me. I haven't wanted to do anything. I just started getting back to walking with my sister-in-law Danielle and hopefully whenever we move next week and get situated I will get in a more routine schedule with working out more. I will keep you updated.... I am going to do my measurements and hopefully lose inches as well as weight. Honestly, I would rather lose inches then anything at all. I really need to go to the doctor and get a yearly physical done to make sure of no breast cancer. I have that in my family. So, I am always looking out for bumps. Anyway, keep checking on me.

Boycotting Oprah

I have been a big fan of Oprah's for the longest time. But since I have read on the Drudge Report (please check the link out) that she isn't going to have Sarah Palin on her show, that really irrated me. Anyway, I am boycotting her show and letting everyone that I know about it. She would interview Hilary Clinton in a heartbeat. But since Palin is Republican she is going to interview her because it might conflict her thing with Obama. I believe the only reason she is going for Obama is for his color. I am by no means racial. But I disagree that you are going for a person for their color and for not what is right. I believe Palin will be a great asset to have at the Whitehouse. Well, I just read that and about flipped out of my chair. Oh yes, and her staff is divided, a lot want Palin to be on the show. I would guess they don't get a say. That's all I have to say, NOPRA and NOBAMA !!!!

Tonight will be a good night!

For those of you who are as concerned for Hayden as I am. I am glad to announce that I have cleaned his BM from his bed, and that he is safely and comfortly sleeping peaceful in his own bed.
Today was great. We officially signed the papers today and our house is scheduled to be moved onto our land Tuesday of next week. My husband will hopefully be able to take pictures of the house in the process of moving. We are very excited. Cody (oldest son) can't wait to build his first tree house with his dad. Of course, it won't be in a tree because none of our trees are big enough.
Tomorrow, I plan to go up to the school and get everything ready for the first day of school on Monday. I will hopefully be picking up a Big Toy Camper car for the boys from the school that was graciously given to us. I can't wait, because the boys will just have a ball on it. Until next post!

::Great day, Bad night::

Yesterday was a great day. We had our Open House at school from 9-11 am. I had special cookies made for each of my students and enough for their siblings and parents. They had primary color polka dots all over with the wording "Welcome to His Kids". As soon as the children came to the door with their parents and would get a little nervous, I would invite them in with handing them a cookie. All the kids then stopped crying and came in and started playing. It was great. I really enjoyed visiting with the parents and the children. I am going to have a wonderful year with these children.
After the Open House, we had a little "team" meeting in my Best friends classroom. Although, we spent most of the time getting onto our own kiddos, we finally got something accomplished. When we finally were done, I was so exausted because I haven't got up that early in a long time. Plus, I was stressin' that everything would be perfect, and it was. My husband asked me to go get his check, so I honored his request and even though I was tired I went and picked it up. When I went inside to pick it up, the lady told me that Jacob was supposed to call in to let them know I was picking the check up. She said they had been having problems with (ex) wives picking up the checks without permission. But she let me take it anyway, because I told her that he was asleep and I wouldn't be able to get in touch with him.
We went home after I picked the check up, and I was so exhausted I went into our room and plopped right next to Jacob. The first question he asked is if I "got" him something?! I said what do you mean? He said did I pick up him check, I said No. I was tired and didn't feel like picking it up! (wink). He was all upset at me and got out of bed and went into the other room. I fell asleep. He came in after he took a shower and told me to get up if I was going with him to get his check and run to Home Depot. I did want to go to Home Depot with him, so I got up. While we were on our way to "get his check" I pulled out his check and told him that I was a good wife and got it. He gave me a kiss and told me that I was the best wife and he appreciated me getting his check and apologized for being rude to me.
At Home Depot, we were down the isle we needed to be to get what we needed and guess who rounded the corner to ask if we needed help?! It was none other than the Olympian Chad Vaughn, asking us if we needed help. I said "I recongnize you, from the news, you're the Olympic weightlifter." He said, yes he was. Then we got to talking about the Olymics and everything. He was a sweet guy.
After we checked out and was on our way home, we got a call from Lindsey about the house. She wanted us to come in to go over the "closing" papers, (because we are closing today at 3pm), and wanted us to get our questions answered and walk through the house one more time before they move it to our land.
We hopped in with my Awesome (in so many ways)Mother-in-law Susan and headed to Killeen. We went over the papers with Lindsey and did a walk through. There were a few things we wanted done, but nothing drastic. Then she said,"Now there is one more thing I need to ask?!". We all looked at each other like crap what is it. Then she said,"Do you want any of the furniture that was in the house, that was decorative." Susan (MIL) asked what the fee was. And Lindsey said, FREE!!!! OMG, I about had a stroke right there. This furniture was brand new. A queen size bed, with brand new mattresses, couches, 2 sets of living room furniture, and a very nice dining table and chairs. We said Absolutely!!
Ok, that was our good day! When we got home, I am so tired at this point. I gave the boys baths and we went to bed. At a record time of 8:30pm. All the boys were sleeping with me. Hayden usually doesn't sleep with us, because he is a wiggle worm, and neither of us sleep, when he sleeps with us. But the night before, Hayden had a massive blowout in his bed (from his diaper). And there was BM everywhere. I thought, since Jacob was the one who got him out of bed to change him that he would have cleaned it up. I was wrong. When I went to put him in his bed I just didn't want to mess with it and put him in bed with us. (Me and the Boys). Over night, he fell off the bed 5 different times, and could have fell off more if I didn't catch him a few of the times. The last fall he had was at the bottom of our bed which had all of Cody's trains. After I picked him up, I went and turned the light on and saw he had been bruised up really bad in the face. It was still early in the morning and I know he was exhausted himself. So, I pretty much didn't sleep and kept my eye on him. Anyway, that was our bad night. I will post a few pictures of our Sold sign and a picture of Hayden and the aftermath of his falls.

:::They got a lot done today:::

I was very happy today when I went out back to our "new" lot to see what was going on. My husband, brother-in-law, Father-in-law, and uncle were working on the septic. At one point in the day, my husband came in and broke some heavy news onto me that the septic was broke and not useable and that we would have to get a new one and it would take a month or so to get that. That really put a sadness in my Labor day. Then a few hours later, he came back and said that the septic is going to be do-able after-all. That really made my day.

We are hopefully going to get our house this week!!! YEAH!!! To see them working really excited me. I can't wait for tomorrow to be here, so that we can call the house people and see exactly what day we are looking at getting the house. Tomorrow is a big day for us as in calling a lot of people and getting our T's crossed and I's dotted. I will continue to keep you all updated on the house.

Playing Catch-Up

Well, to catch you up I will try and sum up what has been going on in the last few days at the Queen's house. I will talk about the couldn't sleep friday, Longhorn game on saturday, and sunday & birthday events.

Friday, the in-laws went and stayed in their travel trailer at my sister-in-laws, so it was just me, Jacob and the boys at home. Well, my husband works nights and he sleeps during the day. He doesn't work on fridays, so we pretty much call those days catch up days. He was asleep by 4:00 pm. Without him, it was me and the boys to fend for ourselves. I cooked chicken and dumplings and had ranch style beans for the side. The boys loved it, and we tried to save some for Jacob, just in case he woke up. There was hardly any. Around 10:00 pm the boys were down for the count (asleep). And me, I was wide awake. I took advantage and had me a few glasses of wine to try and help me fall asleep. Well, that backfired and kept me up later. For some reason the last week or so, I haven't been able to go to sleep at a decent time. Friday I went to be at 4:00 am Saturday morning!!!

Saturday morning at 9 I was up and ready to go. We didn't do much but pick up around the house, then headed to eat at Pluckers, which is a Dotson Family Tradition before the Texas Longhorns game. After that, we came home and I did some work before we go back September 8th. Which I am very excited. When I was finished we then headed off to Jacob's uncles' house. The game was on PPV and he had bought it. We grilled burgers with the fixin's and had a lot of great conversations. I really enjoyed getting to know some people that I didn't know anything about. After the Longhorns put a whoopin' on Florida Atlantic we came home. Which I didn't go to bed until 2:00 am.

Sunday, we got up and got ready to go to church, we actually made it on time. I wanted to get some cold coffee (frappacino) and was next in line when they said they were closing until after the service. That was not good for me, because I rely on my frappacino and breakfast taco before the service. We went and ate some yummy BBQ at Smokey Mo's in Georgetown, then headed back home. I had asked Jacob to stop by Style America so that I could get my hair cut, but he didn't. I was very upset because he has done several things for himself and was being very inconsiderate. When we got home he gave me money so I could go by myself and get it done. When I got there my lady was busy and if I wanted her I would had to wait 1 hour, but I didn't have time for that. I should have went with my gut instinct and just had waited or go another day, but I really needed a hair cut. I ended up going with the other lady who hasn't cut my hair. She cut it just a little shorter then I wanted, but it's do-able. We then went to my step-dads birthday which was fun, because I haven't seen them in awhile. Then headed home to visit with some family who came in from Louisiana. Last night wasn't hard for me to fall asleep, although it was hard to stay asleep. In our queen size bed, we had 5 people. It's not comfortable at all and I don't recommend trying it.

Anyway, that was our weekend and it's now Labor day. I will blog about that later....
